Fiona dictated a letter to Eavan just now while we are eating breakfast:

“Dear Eavan,
I really love you. In fact, Eavan likes rainbows just like me.

#xpnfest day 3

Made it through day 3 of the Xponential Festial fairly intact. Rain and flash flooding got the best of us during the 2nd to last band and we had to abandon 2 camp chairs, a camp table, our picnic blanket and my sunglasses. Trekked back to the car in the downpour and ankle deep water but it was worth it for such a fun end to a great weekend. Let it be know, our daughter is a trooper at a festival. She made friends with everyone sitting around us and all over the park people would stop us and say they had seen her dancing/singing/clapping/climbing all over Patrick and they were impressed she was handling it all so well. Seeing as I think she was fueled almost exclusively on free strawberry lemonade and samples of ice cream, I’m not surprised she had enough energy to make it.20130728-173149.jpg20130728-173209.jpg

Eavan has started singing songs to herself in the car for entertainment. When she was younger she only wanted me to sing to her (bad idea with my awful voice). Then she wanted to sing herself but I could never figure out what she was singing. Now she full fledge sings songs. Itsy Bitsy Spider, Twinkle Twinkle, Call Me Maybe, Hit The Road Jack.

Harvesting from the garden has gotten a bit challenging ever since Eavan became more interested in it. She loves to dig in the dirt and help us weed but when it comes to harvesting the literal fruits of our labor we encounter a few problems. 1- if she impulsively tries to pick a tomato or pepper she can take down an entire plant. 2- once a fruit, especially a bell pepper, has been pulled, it rarely makes it into the house without making a trip to her mouth for a test bite. Everything comes in looking like we have a field mouse problem. At least she’s learning to like fresh veg!
