First Visit to Arkansas! by stegaliu

Eavan took her first plane ride to Arkansas to visit Mam Helen and Daddy Phil.  She was an angel on the flight there due to it being a very early flight so she slept through the whole thing.  When she was awake she was very happy!

When we arrived Helen took her out of my arms right as we passed through security in the airport and I don’t think I held her the rest of the visit.  When we got to their house Eavan was presented with her very first sock monkey, Sherman!  He was adorable with polka dots and a hat and scarf because according to his tag he “loves to play outside.”  He must be playing in the Northeast and not in Arkansas with that get up!  Sadly, Esther (the lab), loved to play with Sherman and before we could even get a photo of him he ended up like this under the dining room table:

Don’t worry!  Sherman 2.0 was delivered to PA just a few days after we got home and Eavan is snuggling with him all day.  Maddie has showed no signs of interest.

The trip was wonderful, very relaxing as always.  Patrick and Phil played many rounds of golf and Helen played with Eavan and I took naps.  Glorious naps.

We can’t wait to go back!

My Nai Nai and Yeh Yeh came for a visit for Chris’ college graduation and to meet their first great grandchild!  Eavan will call them Tai Po and Tai Gong.

I’m still looking for a pic with NaiNai…I’ll update as soon as I get one from someone…hint hint Dad or Brenna!

Spending time with NaiNai and YehYeh is incredibly important to me since we get to see them so infrequently.  We’re going to spend a wonderful week with them in Mexico over Thanksgiving along with the rest of the Liu extended family.  Can’t wait!

Ok, so we are bad bloggers.  Add it to the list of things we are bad at; keeping the house straightened, editing videos of Eavan, remembering our cameras for major events and parties, pruning our tomato plants, etc.  I went searching the Fowlkes’ blog for info from Carter’s 4 month check up to compare to Eavan’s (C: 15lbs, 4oz, 28 inches long, E: 16lbs, 5oz, 25.25 inches long)  and I was amazed by the amount of blogging that Eli and Thomas were able to do (considering they were suffering from exhaustion from having to get up at 9am on a weekend…imagine!).  So what if I am working full time and have homework today!  I must blog more!  I must document this for posterity or at least to prove to Eavan that we had a life and didn’t live in a cave when she was a wee one!  Also, I get up at 6am, no matter the day so I have at least a couple more hours than E&T did.  Thus begins my quest to blog at least once a week with pics or a video.  This does not count for this week…so be on the look out!
